Clause 26 - 30 set out the entitlement whereby persons emigrating to the Province should be able to make application for free land in proportion to their outlay in making the journey. They were required to purchase a Land Order and nominate those intending to settle in Auckland Province. For this they received a Nomination certificate to be presented to the Waste Lands Board in Auckland who would then provide them with a Money certificate for the land selected.
For every person travelling as Intermediate or Steerage passengers from Europe the rate was set at:
£20 for those 11 years or over
£12 for every child aged between 7-11
£8 for every child aged 1-7
